Responsibility and Innovation

Background

The task was to coach the CEO of a £6 million design and artwork consultancy, who had very strong social entrepreneurship principles.

What was the issue?

The CEO was having difficulty aligning his values of social conscience and creating a profitable and growing business. He was concerned about how to do this and how it would be perceived. It was beginning to hold back the growth and profitability of the business. This had spilled over into the staff and how they perceived working at the organisation. The culture had become TOO relaxed and therefore people were having difficulty dealing with the demands of a growing business where different skills and behaviours were required.

What did we do?

  • We did a full assessment of the CEO and his team.
  • We carried out a Myer Briggs analysis, discovering values as well as 360 feedback on performance and leadership.
  • We then carried out one-to-one coaching with the CEO and team coaching in the rest of his organisation.

What was the outcome?

  • The values of the CEO and the business were made explicit as was the way forward and the accompanying behaviours.
  • The areas that needed work and clarifying were focused on.
  • The team coaching explored the essential skills required in the new environment plus accompanying behaviours aligned to the explicit values of the organisation.
